Slow down

I didn't stop scrapping...just slowed down.  Life got busy and I have lost my inspiration a lot of days.  No time or energy for blogging.  Don't get me wrong, Life is Good!  Just busy.  I think I need to do a big printing job and see my pages in real life to get back my mojo.  Anyway, here is the last month of layouts

Refresh

Ever feel like you need a "refresh button" for your kids.  I do!!  This picture shows it perfectly.  I just wish I could control when they decide to just enjoy each other:)
This page was done for the digi-in-deep class at JessicaSprague.com.  The assignment was to use a complex mask that you created.  My mask was the orange rectangle shape with the circle cut out.  I Just kept enlarging the shape and lower the opacity on the blue ones.  I used a brush mask for the picture because the points on the rectangle shape were awkward with my picture, plus I love that orange paper showing through!

Title Block

I did some good layouts this weekend, but I was having major problems with the titles.  The second page with Ashley running I just gave up and went without a title.  On this page, again with Miss. Ashley, I knew I wanted to use that word art from Carina Gardner, but it was in stamp form.  After I did the page using a layered template I thought the title needed to have more depth.  How to achieve that chip board look?  It turns out it is super easy.  First I selected my word art using (CTR+clicking on the word art layer), then filled it with pink.  Then I applied the same drop shadow that was used on the other items in the template just by copying and pasting the layer style.  Then I created a new layer, and selected the word art again.  In order to make the tan "chipboard" backing I just went to the selection menu, chose modify, then expand and used 25 as the expand amount. Then, making sure I was on the new layer, I filled the selection with the tan color. Then paste the same drop shadow and like magic word art has a little depth.
Now if I could just do something about the impish grin:)

I gave up on the title, but I LOVE these frames!

I was happy to do this layout, as soon as the kids saw it they were asking to go skiing again.  My favorite part is the ski flying out of the frame.  Cross Country skis are really long and when you fall they are not so easy to deal with, but very funny to watch.

Q+A

The annual question and answer pages.  I used Splendid Fiins teen and tween kits.  The girls pages were hard for me, bright colors and doodle stickers--yikes!, but the girls love them!  I love the journaling:)

Frozen moments

I used Anna Aspnes gradient brushes on this. They make it SO easy to blend things!

My husband hates this photo, but since when has that stopped me from scrapping?:)  This page was inspired by those art lines from Liv.e Designs.  They just made me think of a magazine page.

Love the different textures in these papers!  I thought they brought enough interest without discracting from a Favorite picture of mine.

School Pages

I was a little wary of using these rub-ons. As I don't usually use elements like that. But it inspired me to do this layout with some of the questions he asked about the third grade before he started and I really like it!

She is a funny one.  I went back to my roots with this one.  A little ledger grid anyone?

The title was actually a mistake.  I was going to put 2nd Grade, but then I liked the repeat of the number...so I left it.

Gym Fest

Had to document the youngest achievments.  She has come soooo far this year in dealing with her total fear of large groups and attention.

Oh, and aren't these papers seriously cool!  They make me feel like I am shopping at the GAP, which always makes me feel happy. (here is your super secret hint for the day...these papers are only 1$ for today:)

Summer = Cape Cod

As soon as the weather gets warmer my husband is itching to go to the Cape. We went this last weekend, and I am sure we will go again before the summer is over. I need to because this trip was a little to cold for me:)

Summer has arrived, and that makes us all happy at my house!

Here is a lo I did proving it, with the first watermelon of the season.

And I am not very good at turning my blog into a sales banner, but some things are just too good not to share. It is the 3rd birthday of jessicasprague.com and the whole store is on sale at 20% off. That is cool, but what is REALLY great is that the sale includes all self paced classes that are currently available + there will be a "Computer Tricks for Card Making" class that is FREE. {Registration for that starts June 14}

Jessica really does have the best classes! So if you have been wanting to learn how to digital or hybrid scrap this is a great opportunity! You can get all the details at jessicasprague.com
